Scott Stanley Gorlewski, of Gaylord, passed into the arms of our Lord on Saturday, February 15, 2020, the day after his 51st birthday, with his family by his side.

Scott had a sunny, loving, polite, compassionate, and giving nature.  He loved God with all his heart and lived life to the very best of his abilities.  After living a life already full of serious medical issues, in June of 2019, he was diagnosed with leukemia. He bravely battled cancer for nearly eight months.  He will be forever missed.

Scott was born in Alpena on February 14, 1969.  He attended the Gaylord schools and graduated from Gaylord High School in 1988.  Scott participated in many volunteer programs.  The American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life was most important to him.

Scott is survived by his parents, Clement and Eleanore Gorlewski of Gaylord; sister, Kimberly (Jeff) Reynolds of St. Clair Shores; brother, Alan Gorlewski of Battle Creek; nieces, Samantha Reynolds of Georgetown, Kentucky and Katie Reynolds of St. Clair Shores; nephew, Jacob Reynolds of St. Clair Shores; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and good friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, February 19, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. from St. Mary Cathedral.

Visitation at the Nelson Funeral Home will be held on Tuesday, February 18, 2020, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.  A Rosary will be offered at the funeral home Tuesday evening (February 18th) at 6:00 p.m.

Visitation will continue Wednesday, February 19, 2020, at the cathedral beginning at 10:00 a.m.

Burial will take place in the spring at Resurrection Cemetery in Gaylord.

The Gorlewski family appreciates all who kindly helped Scott throughout his life and his illnesses.  Thank you from the bottom of their hearts.  The angels have led Scott to heaven.
