Robert Lee Reed, 78, of Wolverine, passed away Saturday, June 27, 2020.

 

Robert was born on a farm in Spangler, Pennsylvania, on August 27, 1941, to Ralph and Edith (Toddhunter) Reed.  In his earlier years, he was a cub scout and later became a boy scout.

 

After graduation from Roseville High School, he joined the Navy Aviation ordinance.  He was active in the Navy from 1959 to 1963, then enlisted in the reserves until 1965.  In 1964 Robert started a job as a truck driver for Chrysler, where he received many awards for safe driving.  On December 31, 1996, he was able to retire from Chrysler and moved to Wolverine, Michigan, where he joined the local fire department along with becoming a Mason for life.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time with his local buddies at the bar.

Robert is survived by his children, Michael (Kathy) Reed of Almont, Michigan, Jeanine (Phil) Thomas of Wolverine, Michigan, Glenn Reed of Florida; ten biological grandchildren; siblings, Grant Reed of Maryland, Susan (Steve) Stolte of Florida; stepchildren, Gale (Marty) Kelmums, Jimmy Winton, Crystal (Will) McFadden, Yvette (Dave) Smith; 12 step-grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.

 

Robert was preceded in death by first wife, Francis Hood, on July 24, 2015, his second Wilma Joyce Myers on July 12, 2011

 

Visitation will be Monday, June 29, 2020, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Nelson Funeral Home.

    Terry and I are very sorry about the loss of your father Jeanine. You did everything for him to make him comfortable and happy and he knew it. He is now happy and healthy in heaven With your mommy. RIP Robert Reed. You are an amazing father and you had a good life. Was fun meeting you up in Wolverine on the tubing trips. Our thoughts go out to all of your family and friends.
