Vivan Keith Smith, age 94, of Gaylord, Michigan, passed away on January 3, 2023.

He was born on March 8, 1928, to Oliver and Hazel (Earl) Smith in Barryton, Michigan.

Vivan was a loving father and husband who enjoyed his large family. He never missed the Smith Family Reunion, which has been held for more than 70 years.

He was an avid fisherman, hunter, and master mushroom hunter, and enjoyed pulling everyone behind his self-made wood speedboat. Most importantly, he loved spending his days at his river house with his loving wife, Nola, taking in all of nature.

Vivan was a member of the Winona Lodge.

He is survived by his wife, Nola; two children, Cindy and Cris; six granddaughters; six great-granddaughters; and one grandson.

Vivan was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Amanda and Bertha; three brothers, Ray, Tom, and Wendall; two sons, Craig and Carl; and his grandson, Dorian.

At this time, the family has chosen to remember him privately.
