Waverley Ann Sprenger, 90, of Gaylord, Michigan passed away Thursday, March 23, 2017 at home with her family by her side.
Waverley was born on January 23, 1927, in Detroit, Michigan, to Charles and Germaine (Fortin) Hamilton. She married Robert Sprenger on September 5, 1948, and together raised their family of four children. Waverley loved animals and enjoyed flowers and gardening, even working at Bell’s Greenhouse for a time of about 10 years. She was also a member of the Garden Club and of Friends for Life, both in Gaylord. Waverley was always considered by her family and friends to be an inspiringly upbeat and optimistic woman.
Waverley is survived by her children, Diane (William) Scheuber, Robert C. (Tiena) Sprenger, Karen Wiltfang, and James D. Sprenger; grandchildren Brooke (Jeff) Williams, Michael (Jaclyn) Scheuber, Kate (Marie) Nagle, Jennifer Hougland, Jerry Barnes, Nicholas Wiltfang, Heidi (Sergio) Gomez, Rebecca (Aaron) Hinzman, and James R. (Brooke) Sprenger; and great-grandchildren Eden, Nicole, Riley, Tyson, Bentley, and Maddox.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert N. Sprenger; parents Charles and Germaine Hamilton; and siblings Jacquelyn Klein and James Hamilton.
Memorial services will be held at Waverley’s home (Dora Street in Gaylord) on June 10, 2017 at 2:00 PM. The family will receive guests beginning at 12 Noon.

I am so sorry for all of u. I know it’s not easy to lose a parent. I loved Aunt Wavey and Uncle Bob. Remembered visiting with them at the house at Union Lake. My prayers are with u all.
