On Saturday, October 13, 2018, Ruth Anne Shann, loving wife and mother of three children, passed away peacefully at her home after a battle with cancer at the age of 69.
Ruth was born on April 29, 1949 to Clayton and Audrey Shaw. She was one of four children. She married David Shann on June 7, 1969 in Wolverine, where they made their home and raised two sons, Douglas and Matthew, and daughter Christina. She loved to be at home with her grandchildren, eight in total, and seven great-grandchildren, where she would read them stories, take them on adventures and play her accordion for them. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Dave.
She touched the hearts of so many and will be greatly missed.
A memorial luncheon will be held at the Wolverine Community Center on Saturday, October 20, 2018, at 1pm.
Arrangements were entrusted to Nelson Funeral Home and Cremation Service, P.O. Box 1548, Gaylord, MI 49734.

So sad to hear this, I have known her for so long. Babysat her children, watched them have their kids, always loved to run into her and chat. Many prayers to all her family, may they find peace and comfort through this time. I hope she is finally free from pain, hurt and sadness from this world. God Bless all of you.
My thoughts & prayers are with the family. I will remember Ruth Anne as the fun, caring, kind person she was. May she rest in peace.
My memories with Ruthann will never fade… she was a beautiful light. May she rest well in Gods arms.
Fanny was the cousin I could always go to when I was a teenager. Her heart was full of love and she was always willing to listen to me. She shall be missed by me for sure.
Ruthann was kind, loving and true to her friends. It is hard to see class mates and friends pass. She is pain free and flying strong, god bless her.
I Love you Aunt Ruth Anne ❤.
Love, Prayers & BIG Hugs to you Doug, Matthew, Christina & ALL the Family.
Please accept my sincerest condolences on the loss of your mother and grandmother. I hope you find encouraging the words found in the Bible at Revelation 21:4, where God gives us his personal promise that very soon he will do away with death, sickness and cancer, from the Earth forever, and then he will resurrect Ruth to perfect life here on Earth, surrounded by family and friends, which has always been God’s purpose for mankind and for the Earth.
