Truman Allen Potter, Sr., age 63, of Grayling, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 5, 2018, surrounded by love and family after a well-fought battle with cancer.

Truman was born on April 13, 1954, in Alma to Roy and Devona (Wortham) Potter. He was a proud veteran of the Marine Corps, and spent the last years of his life as head maintenance for Remus Apartments in Remus, MI.

Truman was a loving father, brother, and friend. He is survived by his children, Truman (Gretchen) Potter, Jr., Lisa Mueller, Travis (Chrissy) Potter, Jessica (Michael) Randall, and Brittany (Henry) Jacobs; grandchildren Paige, Carson, and Preston Potter, Zachary Mueller, Kali and Ava Potter, Hunter and Greyson Randall, and Abraham Jacobs; mother Devona Wortham; siblings Darrell (Jean) Potter, Ken Potter, Justin (Jodi) Potter, Phyllis (Ron) Everson, and Vickie Potter; as well as many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his daughter, Amy Marie Potter; father Roy Potter, Sr.; brother Wesley Roy Potter; grandmother Bessie May (Hankins) Potter; and nephew Jason Potter.

The family has chosen to remember him privately at this time.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Truman’s memory may be made to VA Medical Centers or to the American Cancer Society.

Arrangements were entrusted to Nelson Funeral Home and Cremation Service, P.O. Box 1548, Gaylord, MI 49734.
