Narcyza Lucilla “Narcy” Detzler, 91, passed away Thursday, January 16, 2020.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Boleslaw and Mary Dorozinsky; her loving husband, Joseph E. Detzler; sister, Cecilia Neff, and nephew, William Neff.
Left to cherish her memory are son, Joseph L. Detzler, and wife, Toni; grandchildren, Joseph C. Detzler and Lindsay Detzler; great-granddaughter, Leighton Detzler; nieces, Mary Mason and husband, Henry, Rebecca Cope and husband, Richard, and Melinda Neff; nephew, Christopher Neff and wife, Cynthia.
Narcy was born on April 9, 1928, in Detroit, MI, and graduated from high school in Detroit. She moved to the Vanderbilt area with her family in 1951.
Narcy married Joe Detzler on April 1, 1967. She worked 16 years for the Gaylord State Home and six years for a local doctor before becoming a full-time farmer with her husband. Joe and Narcy took every step together through thick and thin.
Narcy loved quilting, rock collecting, coin collecting, reading, bird watching, and gardening. Many family members are fortunate to have one of her hand-stitched quilts. She had a knack for making things more beautiful.
Visitation will be held at the Nelson Funeral Home on Friday, January 24, 2020, from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Graveside services will be held in the spring at Evergreen Hill Cemetery in Vanderbilt.
