Jack Morey, age 93, of Vanderbilt passed away on January 27, 2017

Jack was born in Davison, MI on September 28, 1923 to Wallace and Ninetta (Hall) Morey.

He proudly served our country in the U.S. Navy.  He owned Smiling Jack’s TV in Vanderbilt. Jack worked for Standard Products and he retired after 35 years.  Jack loved his hobby of tatting beautiful table cloths and ornaments, he was an avid pinochle player and active in the RSVP program.  He was also a lifetime member of the Vanderbilt Community Church.

Jack is survived by his children Judith (William) Miller, James (June) Morey, Wallace (Sandra) Morey, Andrew (Patricia) Morey and Julia Williams, 21 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death was his loving wife, Ada, daughter, Anna Forbes, his parents, eight brothers and two sisters.

A memorial service will be held on June 3, 2017 at 11 AM from the Vanderbilt Community Church.

Memorial contributions in Jack’s memory can be made to the Vanderbilt Community Church.

    Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this time and the months to follow. Jack will be missed by so many. He was such a wonderful, kind loving man. RIP Jack.

  2. My condolences to the Morey family on the loss of a father, grandfather and great grandfather. Jack was a good, kind man and was a friend to me when we were working. He will be missed by all and cannot be replaced.

For the few years I knew you I enjoyed your friendship and our days playing cards and especially cribbage also one gift so to speak your sharing of jokes you shared with everyone and the community church in Vanderbilt on Sundays. Also the introduction of Our Daily Bread.org Ministries daily prayer booklet; I subscribe now and read daily thank you Jack for your friendship, it definitely filled a void in my life—-Pat
