Mary Elizabeth (Moran) Goosen, 81, of Gaylord, Michigan passed from this life at home, in her sleep, Saturday March 9, 2019.
She was born January 4, 1938 in Detroit Michigan to Theodore and Wilma (Breece) Moran.
She graduated from Dominican Catholic School in the Detroit area. Mary moved to Wolverine where she worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant for 15 years, caring for the elderly and adults with developmental disabilities. She enjoyed helping with events for Special Olympics. Mary moved to Gaylord and worked seven years at Mayfair Plastics and helped with Relay for Life. She was an avid reader who enjoyed a variety of books, she was a collector of books. She also enjoyed gardening.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Theodore and Wilma; brother Theodore “Joe” Moran; ex-husband, David Goosen, and brother in law, Dave Bunker.
She is survived by her family Edna (Steve) Barr; Sherri (Nick) Daniel; Kaila and Zoey; Denise (Darrell) Bowe; Hunter, Brianna, and Morgan; Patricia Goosen; Danyell (Matt) Hamblin, and Annabell; Theodore (Teresa) Goosen; Theodore and Jason; Timothy (Teresa) Goosen; Megan (Brian) Trempe, and expected baby boy; Brooke (Michael) Chalambaga, David (Cathy) Goosen II; David III, Chad, Kameron; Beth Miller; Sara (Mickey) Conn; Austin (Karen); Aiden, Weston; Dalton, Mickea; Steven (Niki) Miller, Helen, Teddy Miller, Sabreana (Brandon) Mastaw, Dominic, (Dean II), Dean III, expected baby girl; Shawn Goosen; 2 sister in laws Rita and Barb, many nieces, nephews, and cousins, as well as numerous special friends.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday March 23, 2019, at 1:00 p.m. at Corwith Township Hall, 8170 Mill St, Vanderbilt, MI 49795.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family through the Nelson Funeral Home & Cremation Service, PO Box 1548, Gaylord, MI 49734.

I remember Mrs. Goosen back in the mid 1970’s when my family used to drive North and we’d pick blueberries with her and Mrs. Rita Bunker. Very fond memories of her kindness and sense of humor. My sympathies to her family.

Aunt Mary was an amazing lady. I will always remember the relay for life, we stayed up all night listening to rock and roll!! She really surprised Marvie, my son, on her music collection. ❤️😊 She was a free spirited woman. I will miss her, she was loved. 💋
