Martha Marie Agee, 89, of Gaylord, passed away at her home on October 7, 2021, surrounded by her loving family.
Martha was born on September 22, 1932, to Edward and Philomena Schulte. She married the love of her life, Donald Paul Agee, on September 3, 1955. They were blessed with six children, ten grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. They had just celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary.
Martha was a great mother and grandmother. She worked for many years as a registered nurse. Upon moving to Gaylord, the huge garden and the family farm kept her busy while the children were young. Her passion for nursing was rekindled as the children grew older and she worked in that capacity until her retirement.
Donald and Martha fulfilled a lifelong dream when they built their dream home overlooking their beautiful property in Gaylord.
Martha was preceded in death by her son, Mark Lawrence Agee, of Centerline, MI.
She is survived by her loving husband, Donald; her children, David (Pam) Agee of Traverse City, Daniel (Renee) Agee of Cookeville, TN, Douglas (Kate) Agee of Plainfield, IL, Karen Agee of Gaylord, and Laura (Steve) Lanuti of Southern Pines, NC; ten grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Because of her love of the medical field and helping others, Martha had chosen to donate her body to science, for research. There will be a memorial service at a later date.
She will be greatly missed by those who knew her. Her corny jokes and deep chuckle could always make a person laugh.
The family takes comfort in knowing that she is now with her Heavenly Father and family that has gone before her. Surely upon her arrival into Heaven, she heard “Well done good and faithful servant.”
A Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, November 4, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at Holy Redeemer Church in Vanderbilt.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holy Redeemer Church in Vanderbilt, through the Nelson Funeral Home, PO Box 1548, Gaylord, MI 49734.

Laura, So sorry for your loss. I just saw this on the obituaries. She will be greatly missed. She was always like a second mom. Let me know what the plans are for the memorial service. If you need anything or just someone to talk to, contact me.

I thought of you both so often while I was taking care of Mom and wanted so badly to call. But I wasn’t sure if your numbers were the same. My cell number hasn’t changed. (If you have it)
The memorial service will be at Holy Redeemer 2pm November 4th with a dinner to follow in the hall. Please come by if you are able. And thank you for your condolences.
I will miss Martha a great deal. I will miss looking up at her when I read at our church. I will miss dropping things off to her and chatting on the phone. She was a remarkable woman and God is going to love having her with him! May God bless all ofyou, especially you, Don. Many more prayers to the family. She is resting and at peace. Mike and Barb
My sympathies to the Agee family.
I remember her hearty chuckles.
When I was a kid, she was an impressionable good mother. She had a really good attitude about life.
God bless her and the family!!

Don, I am so sad to hear the news about Martha. We have known you and your kids for such a long time. And singing with the Gaylord Chorale. I know that Martha was an exceptional wife and mother. May she rest in peace.
