Marrion Berklin “Bert” Meadows, age 78, passed away on Friday, July 22, 2022.

Bert was born on July 6, 1944, in Prestonsburg, KY, to Joseph and Mary (Gray) Meadows. He grew up in a large family including 11 siblings.

Bert moved to Ypsilanti, MI, at a young age and resided there for the remainder of his life. He retired from Ford Motor Company.

He enjoyed hunting while spending time with family in Manistee, MI. Bert also liked to pass time by fishing, fixing vehicles/small engines, and beating everyone at Euchre with a Budweiser and some moonshine. Bert would spend time with family and friends at his brother Ott’s “Garden” creating many fond memories. He was a lifelong member of his local F.O.E. #2250 in Ypsilanti, MI. Those close to Bert would know his favorite sayings; “I know that’s right!,” “yeah buddy,” and “make that money.” He was close with his neighbors, as well, and will be missed by many.

Bert is survived by his four children, Matthew (Kelly) Meadows, Richard (Eric) Giem, Mandy (Doug Statham) Meadows, and Lee (Brittany Schmidt) Meadows; seven grandchildren, Sam, Tristen, Macey, Bryan, Parker, Bronson, and Easton, and siblings, Silas (Marsha), Sally, and Wade.

He was preceded in death by his former wife and lifelong friend, Mary (Carter) Meadows; and his siblings, Dennis, George, Frank, Cott, Joe, Goldie, Curt, and Ott.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, August 27, 2022, from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the Fraternal Order of Eagles #2550, 2935 Holmes Rd., Ypsilanti, MI 48198.

Arrangements were entrusted to Nelson Funeral Home and Cremation Service, PO Box 1548, Gaylord, MI 49734.
