Omar “Arkie” Loe, Gaylord, went to be with his Lord and Savior on March 8, 2017. He was 93 years old.
Omar was born August 23rd, 1923 to Wilber and Viola (Hartman) Loe. He married Bette Brodbeck and they shared 57 years together at the time of her passing. Omar served in the Army during World War II landing at Normandy. He was one of 20 from a Company of 200 to come home safely. He was employed as a sales representative for John Deere for over twenty years and he retired from Gaylord Community Schools. Omar was a Christian who led many others to God. He enjoyed gardening and woodworking. His favorite times were sharing many events with his family and friends.
Omar is survived by his siblings, Robert Loe, James Loe, Jean Weiss, and Joanne Barnes; children, Linda (Dave) Hamilton of Lansing, Andrew (Dorothy) Loe of Petoskey, Roger (Valerie) Loe of Gaylord, Patricia (Dan) Kassuba of Gaylord, and Michael Loe of Lansing; grandchildren Brian, Jill, Janice, Chad, Kevin, Kristy, Paul, Tom, Karen, Janine, and Neil; twenty-five and a half great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and in-laws, and even more friends.
He is predeceased by his wife, Bette Loe; parents, Wilber and Viola Loe; and siblings June Smith, Raymond Loe, and Verlin Loe.
Services will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Gaylord at 11am on May 5th, 2017, with visitation beginning at 10am and lasting until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Otsego County Commission on Aging.

Roger and family, sorry to hear about your loss. I remember seeing him on his john deere mower with branches and stones flying, LOL. I’m sure he will be missed by all who knew him. Bob & Kris
Omar was a wonderful man. I got to know him as a neighbor in 2003. He made me some banana bread for christmans. Then I bought his house on m-32 and later got the pleasure of meeting most of the family while I helped care for him.. It was a true blessing knowing him. Omar will be greatly missed. He is now reunited with his love, in eternity.
I am so very sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. I got to know you dad through my parents. He will be missed.
