Dolores Ann (Fisher) Knott, our loving and caring mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, friend, and confidant went into the Lord’s hands on Monday September 4, 2017. Dolores was born on November 19, 1922.

Dolores was known for her kindness and generosity, her appreciation of so many things, and her willingness to help others.  She spent 70 of her 94 years in Gaylord and was known by many people because of the businesses she and Bud owned, Knott’s Hops and Schnapps, and Knott’s Shell Service.

Dolores had remarkable interpersonal skills and gained the friendship and respect of many for her contributions to their lives and her unique ability to immediately connect with people.  She was a friend to many and continued to build new friendships over her last two and one-half years as she lived out the balance of her life at McReynolds Hall in Gaylord.

Dolores is survived by her children, Terry (Sally) Knott, Christine Lenartowicz, and Kathy Capps; grandchildren Rebecca A. Knott (fiancé, Wilson Cooke) Bethany C. (Slayden) Johnson, Robert (Sheryl) Zimmerman, Melissa (Tim) O’Rourke, Jesse (Kristol) Lenartowicz, Heather N. Figueroa, and Christine (Adrian) Figueroa; great-grandchildren, Ellis Ann Johnson, Evie Parker Johnson, Marcus O’Rourke, Hali Lenartowicz, Ty Lenartowicz, Sydney Figueroa, Tristan Figueroa, and Troy Figueroa;  brother, Ralph C. (Virginia) Fisher; and nieces and nephews, Barbara, Christopher, Brian, Peggy, Susie, Patty.

Dolores was preceded in death by her husband Floyd (Bud) Knott, parents Raymond M. and Clara A. Fisher, brothers Raymond Fisher, Jr., Bernard F. Fisher and his wife Joy, and son-in-law Leonard Capps.

The family invites you to join them in a celebration of her life on Friday, September 8, 2017 at 12 noon at the Nelson Funeral Home in Gaylord, MI.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday beginning at 10AM until the time of service.

Memorial contributions in Dolores’s honor may be made to the Peace Lutheran Church, PO Box 1153 Gaylord, MI 49734.

Arrangements were entrusted to the Nelson Funeral Home and Cremation Service, P.O. Box 1548, Gaylord, MI 49734.

    Was so sad to hear of Dolores’ passing. She was one of my favorite ladies to have the honor of serving meals to. She was so spunky and full of life. I’m sure her entire family has great memories of her; I know I do. Prayers to the family in your time of grieving.

  3. Dolores and Bud were the first people we met when we moved to Gaylord and bought a house from them in 1961!
    Since then your whole family became great friends with ours! Your mom and dad were always the nicest people! Dolores is back with the love of her life, Bud. Rest in peace Dolores , you will be missed! Tell Bud and my dad hello for me!

    This is the first I’ve heard of Delores’ death. I appreciated knowing her and having her as part of our church family at Peace Lutheran in Gaylord. She was a faithful member as long as I served there as pastor. My wishes for peace for her family!
