Judy A. Atkinson

Judy Ann Atkinson, age 79, of Atlanta, Michigan, passed away on April 7, 2022.

She was born on November 6, 1942, in Ann Arbor, Michigan, to Leon and Alice (Schlee) Hirth.

Judy met her husband, Thomas Atkinson, while at work in 1974, and they enjoyed many years together until her passing.

Judy and Tom made many wonderful friends and memories while traveling full-time for over seven years.

After traveling for over 7 years, they lived in Florida for 6 years before coming back to Michigan and to the Atlanta, Michigan area where Judy had previously spent time at her family’s cabin.

Judy could often be found playing cards, watching her favorite TV shows, and reading.

She is survived by her husband, Tom; stepdaughter, Stephanie; her siblings, Lee (Kathy) Hirth, Peter (Mary Ann) Hirth; mother-in-law, Shirley Atkinson; siblings-in-law, Gerald (Debbie) Atkinson, Wendy (Dean) Nay, Doug (Denise) Atkinson, Mary (Rob) Taylor, and James (Alicia) Atkinson; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents; her father-in-law, Edward T. Atkinson; and sisters-in-law, Barbara Bray and Beverly Hirth.

At this time, the family has chosen to remember her privately.

Burial will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan, at a later date.
