Jon Carl Harwood, 79, of Petoskey, MI, passed away Monday, May 10, 2021.
He was born in Detroit, MI, to Ralph and Bertha (Alday) Harwood on November 2, 1941.
Jon was devoted to his Baptist religion. For many years he was a pastor at Calvary Baptist Church in Gaylord, MI. He was also a member of Landmark Baptist Church in Petoskey, MI.
Jon was an avid biker and was particularly good at construction. He fervently believed, read, and studied God’s Word, the Old King James Bible.
Jon was preceded in death by his wife, and the mother of his children, Cynthia Ann Harwood; and his second wife, Phyllis Harwood.
Jon is survived by his children, Jon Mark (Michelle) Harwood, Pam A. (Bryan) Speroni, Mary K. Harwood, Joy R. (Steve) Miller, Craig A. (Jennifer) Harwood, Jennifer L. (Charles) Leonard, Martin J. (Angie) Harwood, and Sherrie L. Cox; 38 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren, with three more on the way; his sister, Sue Harwood; and his brother, Les Harwood.
There will be a graveside service held on Tuesday, May 25, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Hallock Cemetery in Elmira, MI.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Landmark Baptist Church, by mail, at 1182 Kemp Rd., Petoskey, MI, 49770.

Spent many years under his preaching and teaching bible class every morning for school. Blessed to have known him and his family. May God give them peace and comfort through this time. Sending prayers.
