Jean Franklin Haynes, 91, of Alba, passed away on Tuesday, December 21, 2021.
He was born on April 15, 1930, in Alba, Michigan, to Benjamin and Clarinda (Andrews) Haynes.
Jean grew up on a farm in Alba. Early on, he worked for the family’s beekeeping business and sold honey to neighbors and nearby businesses.
After high school, he joined the United States Marine Corps and was stationed in Barstow, California. After returning home from his military service, he married Carol Goodenough, on September 25, 1955.
To support his family, Jean continued working for his father, making their beekeeping business grow. After his father passed away, he purchased the business and continued its growth.
Jean and Carol had seven children. As they grew, they all helped with the family business.
Jean enjoyed hunting, camping, and volunteering with school and community activities.
He taught Bible studies and was a leader in his church.
Jean was a loving husband to Carol for 64 years. He was a devoted father to his family which has grown to 17 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. He was a true example of a Christian man, serving God, living by the Bible, and helping others in need. He was dearly loved by his family and was a very “sweet” guy.
Jean was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Haynes.

Our prayers and thoughts are with both of you. GOD has given you a great earth father, his love will always be with yours, as will our prayers. God be with you both.
So saddened to hear about Jean. He was hard working, honest, Christian man. Gentle voice, old school man of his word. A devoted husband an father. Always had good hunting stories. He will greatly missed by everyone. Prayers and thoughts extended to the Haynes family.
We are so sorry that you have to part (for a time) from your beloved father, Stacey; father-in-law: Jeff, and grandfather; Janel, Heather, Katy and Josiah. I’m sure there is rejoicing in heaven, though, as Jean arrives at his eternal destination and joins Carol. ❤
Haynes Family,
So sorry to hear about your Dad. Sending sincere sympathy to all of you and keeping you all
in our prayers. Your Dad was a very nice man, he is now with your Mom, which is a blessing.
God Bless you all.

Haynes Family. I’m really sorry to hear about Uncle Jean’s passing. I will always remember him. I fear his sister isn’t far behind. She had a stroke on the same day that he passed. Jean and Carol are at least together again. God Bless them.
