Herbert George “Herb” Reed, 58, of Gaylord, passed away Thursday, October 14, 2021.

He was born the son of Harold and Emma (Rigley) Reed on January 18, 1963, in Detroit, Michigan.

He was a handyman who enjoyed going to the casino or hanging out and watching a Red Wings hockey game.  Most of all he enjoyed spending time with family especially his grandchildren.

Herb was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Virginia; siblings, Joe Reed, Fred Stoll, Timmy Reed, Susan Reed; grandson Xavier DaShawn Fletcher, and favorite dog Buttercup.

He is survived by his lifelong partner, Sherry Heidman; children, Suzanna (Brandon Fletcher) Reed, Ashley Reed, and Dena Reed all of Clarksville, TN, Michael (Emily) Graus and Tiffany (Kyle) Firman of Gaylord, MI; 11 grandchildren; siblings, Paul (Kathy) Stoll, Ruthie Reed, Charlie (Giny) Reed, David Reed, Ray Stoll and Michael Stoll; many nieces, nephews and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children Attn: Processing Center, PO Box 947765, Atlanta, GA 30394.

The family has chosen to remember Herb privately at this time and plans to have a memorial service at a later date.

Arrangements were entrusted to Nelson Funeral Home and Cremation Service, PO Box 1548, Gaylord, MI 49734.

    May you Rest In Peace HERBIE your grandsons Dylon Zilliox & Koby Zilliox love you and will miss you as well. Also thank you for being an amazing grandpa to them they said too.

      Oh Herbie work will never be the same wothout u!! No more singin, no more u scarin the crap out of us! u buyin us donuts, u always givin me shit all day. u made it fun. I never realized how much i loved u my friend. u were pretty awesome! I’ll watch out for Sherry for ya!! I’ll try to take it easy on Bucket too!
