“MAKING GAYLORD BEAUTIFUL”
Joan C. (Prusakiewicz) Glazier, age 64, of Vanderbilt, passed away on Tuesday, February 13, 2018.
She was born in Gaylord on November 29, 1953, the daughter of Bernard and Jeanette (Kurth) Prusakiewicz.
Joan was a cosmetologist for many years and the owner of Joan’s Golden Comb for over 40 years and her passion was, as the slogan goes, “making Gaylord beautiful”. In her free time she loved painting, camping, fishing and an occasional night out at bingo. Her greatest joy, though, came from spending time with her grandchildren.
Joan is survived by her husband, Dale; her children, Greg (Tabitha), Valorie Glazier, Gerrett (Toshia), and Eric (Leslie); her mother, Jeanette Prusakiewicz; her grandchildren, Abraham, Autumn, Elijah, Isaac, Jacob, Ezekiel, Zechariah, Jedediah, Baby Girl, Priscylla, Gabrielle, Mya, Kilea, Chaise, Kennadey, Kamren and Karson; siblings, Michael (Jackie) Prusakiewicz, Jerome (Debra) Prusakiewicz, and Joyce (Charles) Horrigan; many nieces and nephews; and her brother- and sisters-in-law, Wayne (Penny) Glazier, Tam (Ed) McGeshik and Dee (Bill) Thomas.
She was preceded in death by her father, Bernard Prusakiewicz, her sister, Carol Prusakiewicz, her granddaughters, Morgan and Kendahl Glazier and her father- and mother-in-law Mel and Doris Glazier.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at 11:00 AM from Holy Redeemer Church in Vanderbilt.
Visitation at the Nelson Funeral Home will be held on Friday, February 16, 2018 from 4pm – 8pm with a rosary to be held at 7pm. Visitation will continue on Saturday, February 17, 2018, at Holy Redeemer Church from 10am until the time of service.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family for future designation.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Nelson Funeral Home and Cremation Service, PO Box 1548, Gaylord MI 49734.

Dale and family, My heart breaks for you in this loss. Joan was always so sweet and her smile lit up a room. I enjoyed catching up with her when we were at therapy together. May you find some peace in this time. So very sorry.

Dear Dale and family, our hearts break for you all. But the most sincere sympathy to you for the loss of a wonderful woman. She was my hairdresser for years until she decided to retire from it. It was hard to replace her but her love, respect and compassion is what lived on in all of her clients. R.I.P. JOAN
