George Weldon Slocum, age 75, of Gaylord, passed away on Tuesday, March 30, 2010, surrounded by his family and friends.
He was born on October 30, 1934, in Harbor Springs, MI. He married his love, Delores Pearl Labadie on December 17, 1955.
George retired from Standard Products in January of 1997.
He will always be remembered for his laughter, and love of family and friends.
George is survived by his wife, Delores; children, Donald (Lisa) of Ocala, FL, David (Julie) of Sedalia, MO, Dianne (Marty) Damer of Gaylord, George S. of Elmira, Michael of Holly, Lesa (Kelly) Patrick of Gaylord; grandchildren, Daniel, Jonathan, Jill, Amanda, Kayla, Kylie, Dustin, Nathan, Genny, Andrew, Bryan, Alicia, and Alicia; brothers and sisters, Robert (Donna) of Mesick, Rex (Vera) of Harbor Springs, Mary Deshermier of Bay Shore, Ann Baker of Mt. Clemens; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, April 5, 2010, at 1 p.m. from the Nelson Funeral Home, with Father James Bearss, officiating. Visitation will take place on Monday from 11 a.m. until the time of services.
