Gary Miles Pickvet Jr., 34, of Gaylord, passed away Saturday, October 3, 2020.

He was born the son of Gary Pickvet Sr. and Deedee O’Connor, on August 27, 1986, in Pontiac, Michigan.

Gary lived most of his life in the Gaylord area.  He was a family guy who loved his daughters and enjoyed time with family and friends.  He was fond of the outdoors and loved hunting and fishing.  Whenever he had a free moment, he could be found in the pasture riding or training his horses.  He was a people person and loved life to the fullest.

He is survived by his father, Gary; daughters, Elizabeth “Libby” and Amaya; brother, Corey, aunts, and uncles Cindy (David) Chaffin, Norman Jr., and Kelly LaFayette, and many cousins.

Gary was preceded in death by his adopted parents/grandparents Norman and Marilyn Pickvet, and cousin, Daniel Chaffin.

A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, October 16, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. at the Nelson Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Inc., 135 N. Center Ave., Gaylord, MI.  Visitation will take place at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m., until the time of services.

  1. I have not seen “little Gary” since he was 8 or so years old I believe. I thought and think of him most days. This is so heartbreaking for all that were close to him, I imagine. I am Dee Dee’s sister Jennifer and I remember playing with Gary and Corey when they were babies. Rest In Peace Gary. I love you. Aunt Jennifer

  2. RIP, Gary. Fly high with The angels. you are going to make a great one. You will be greatly missed by many. I will miss that laugh of yours, and we had many🤣. I promise to be here for your family. I am praying for them and all who have been impacted by your loss. You were so young, with so much life ahead of you. You truly made a difference in many people’s lives. Thanks for being there for my girls when they needed a date for the father-daughter dance. They had a blast!
