Although Ernie was often a man of little words, those who had the privilege to know him always knew & felt his wisdom, love & compassion for life. His enduring love for his family, friends, & creative work passions, demonstrated how full of integrity & diligence his soul’s journey contained.
Ernie was an exemplary carpenter & a role model & demonstrated to many that by following one’s passions & hobbies, a life time career will create many connections.

Karri,
We recall with fond memories the making of your loft bed when you and Julie went to Ferris your freshman year. Your dad furnished the wood, cherry wood no less, and he and the other Ernie (Herst) cut and fit all the pieces. We always loved to see and talk to your Ernie at the various gatherings. He was such a gentle soul and we know he will be missed.
Ernie and Mary Herst
So sorry for your loss. God bless your family!
