Daniel Boyd Lewis, 72, of Gaylord, MI, passed away on January 7, 2020. He was born on October 5, 1947, to Paul Eugene and Jeannie (Hosey) Lewis.
Daniel married Joyce R. Houk on November 20, 1973, in Folkston, GA.
Daniel served in the United States Marine Corps for eighteen years and served nine years in the Michigan National Guard from which he retired.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce (Houk) Lewis; stepson, Shawn Melton; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one son-in-law; two brothers; one sister; and many nieces and nephews.
Daniel was preceded in death by his stepdaughter, Kerry Ross; parents, Paul Eugene and Jeannie (Hosey) Lewis; his grandparents; and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. from the Nelson Funeral Home. Visitation will be held at the Nelson Funeral Home on Thursday, January 16, 2020, from 1:00 p.m. until the time of services.

We lost our baby sister Cheree B Lewis SanJulian on Nov 23 2019 and now our big brother Daniel B Lewis on Jan 7 2020. We didn’t always see eye to eye but, you are my brother and I love you . It is fitting that you are being laid to rest on Jan 16 because that is the date our mom and dad were married . You had a rough couple of years so, rest in peace brother and keep watch over the family ,you will be greatly missed . Condolences to the family….
