Christopher J. “CJ” Wilson passed away at the Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital in Grand Rapids, MI surrounded by his loving family on July 9, 2022. He was born on March 6, 2021, to Cheyanne Hoffman and Austin Wilson.

CJ’s short life was full of love, laughter, happiness, and spunk. He could make an entire room burst into laughter. CJ loved to play with any toy with wheels, especially outside in the dirt. Dance parties with his mom and brothers was an all-time favorite activity. He loved being with his brothers and learning from them.

Although CJ is no longer here with us physically, the family takes comfort in knowing that he was able to give the gift of life to multiple children and families through organ donation. His spirit, and memory, will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved, him best.

He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Wayne and Rosemarie Tyler, Lawrence Hoffman, and George Shoff; and his grandfather, Scott Wilson.

He is survived by loving parents, Cheyanne Hoffman and Austin Wilson; brothers, Weston, Braxton, Boyd, and Scott; grandparents, David and Darcy Hoffman and Tim and Renee Nielson; great-grandmothers, Marion Hoffman and Bonnie Shoff; numerous loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.

The family would like to thank all the staff at the Otsego Memorial Hospital, the staff at the Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital, and the staff at Nelson’s Funeral Home for their kindness and care for CJ and his family during this time.

A memorial service will be held at the Nelson Funeral Home on Friday, July 29, 2022, at 12:00 p.m. with visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. A second memorial service will be held at the Nelson Funeral Home on Saturday, July 30, at 12:00 p.m., with visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family requests any donations be made to the Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital online at https://give.spectrumhealth.org/tribute-gift or by mail at 100 Michigan St. NE, Grand Rapids, MI. 49503 or Gift of Life Michigan online at https://giftoflifemichigan.org/foundation/make-a-contribution#contribution or by mail at 3861 Research Park Drive Ann Arbor, MI 48109.
