Christopher Goletz

Christopher “Chris” Goletz, a loving father and grandfather passed away on Sunday, July 10, 2022. 

Chris was born on April 27, 1969, in Gaylord, MI to Robert and Midge (Newton) Goletz. He was known for his huge heart and willingness to help others. He was a great mechanic and you could often find him in the garage tinkering on one of his many cars. Chris loved to camp, and spend time with his family and if there was a mud bog nearby, that’s where you could find him. He enjoyed BBQs, the beach and always knew how to have a good time. He was an amazing chef and loved to cook. Chris was a stranger to no one and a friend to many. 

Chris leaves behind his fiancé, Sandra Berreth; his four children, Shawn (Chrissy) of Rapid City, Amanda (Brandon) of Charlotte, Ashley (Devon) of Gaylord, and Kyle (Kristen) of Gaylord. In addition to his children, he leaves behind his brother Jason Szymanski, two nephews Zak and Mack Daily, 16 grandchildren, and a large extended family. 

Chris was proceeded in death by his grandfather Billy, his grandmother Marjorie, his mother Midge, and his sister Wendy. 

The family has chosen to remember him privately at this time.

There will be a celebration of life held at his brother Jason’s house located at 17 McCoy Road, Gaylord MI 49735 on Saturday, July 30 at 2:00 p.m. 

In lieu of flowers, donations for the family may be made to Ashley Hartley at 3503 Southview Drive, Johannesburg MI 49751.
