Catherine Beckner

Catherine “Cathy” Mae Beckner, 64, of Elmira, Michigan, passed away peacefully at her home, Friday, September 13, 2019, surrounded by family and friends.  Cathy was born September 8, 1955, in Flint, Michigan to the late Fred and Shirley (Shurter) Stilson.

Cathy loved family and friends above all else. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. Upon retirement, Cathy worked as a home health care provider. Her clients were her friends. Cathy enjoyed many hobbies in her lifetime including, bowling, pool, baseball, playing cards, and one-armed bandits at the casinos. She loved dogs of any breed and was an avid Elvis fan. She had great joy for life and will be missed.

Cathy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and best friend Charles Beckner, and her eldest brother David Stilson.

Cathy is survived by her children, Veronica Limberger and Charles Beckner Jr, both of Gaylord, Michigan, her grandchildren Austin Limberger, Blake Limberger, Guage Limberger, Caitlyn Beckner, and Braxton Beckner, great-grandchild Kyle Limberger,  8 siblings Diana (Clinton) Spencer, Shirley Fults, Fred (Mary) Stilson, Ivan (Barb) Stilson, Sandy Sinclair, Barb Fox, Brenda (Tom) Lambert, Crystal (Allen) Pallas, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2019, at 1:00 p.m. from the Antrim Church of Christ, 10228 US 131 S, Mancelona, Michigan.

The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday, September 21, 2019, from 12 Noon until the time of services.  A luncheon will be held immediately following the service.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Catherine Beckner may be made to her family, to help with funeral expenses, through the Nelson Funeral Home.
