Bruce A. Butts, 63, formerly of Gaylord, passed away at his home on Friday, July 3, 2020.

He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, mushroom picking, and even snow plowing.  His biggest passion was riding his motorcycle.  To be able to hop on his bike and go is what he looked forward to.

He was always there to lend a helping hand, an ear to listen, or give advice.  Due to his own hard knocks, he tried to steer people down the right path in life.  Life was not always easy for Bruce, but he wanted to make it better for everyone else.

He is survived by three children, Bruce Butts, Scott (Ginger) Butts and Jasmine Adair Coeur; eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; his mother, Connie Butts and three siblings, Cindy (Ray) Haslip, Bill (Patti) Butts and Kim (Ron) Elzey.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lagona “Jack” Butts and his nephew, Robert “Bobby” Elzey.

Bruce will be missed greatly by his family and his many friends.

“Ride high in the sky.”

  9. I knew Bruce when he worked at the marathon. Him & I we hit it off real good always talking tell him little quick stories passing by each other whenever I’d get gas, came in on my motorcycle and he asked if he could go alone I told him of course, Him and I we’re really good friends through the years I knew I could always count on him if I called him and he knew the same. Bruce would get out of bed in the middle of the night if you needed him. Always willing to share anything he had. Through the years we only got to be better and better friends now that he is passed a piece of me will always be missing cuz now I have lost one of my amigos, that’s what we called ourselves The three amigos. Things will never be the same now, I know that but one thing I do know that I will not forget Bruce he was a real good friend and had some really great times some really crazy times. My condolences go out to the family, but know that Bruce was loved and respected by many. And he will always be remembered and missed by me. Rest in peace bro any time I do a shot of fireball I’ll think of you.

  10. I have known Bruce butts for a long time, he will be missed by me and many I’m sure. I met Bruce at Marathon. I rolled up one time on my motorcycle, he asked if he could go along, I told him yes, ever since then we’ve been best of buds, turned into brothers. Bruce was the kind of guy that would get up in the middle of night if you needed him and help you anytime he could. My condolences go out to the family for their loss. I will always think of Bruce when I take a shot a fireball, that was our go to drink besides Bud light. Ride on brother, ride on.

  11. I’m truly going to miss Bruce! He was a wonderful man. We had a special bond that couldn’t be broken. Him and I had many conversation throughout the years of knowing him. I will cherish the memories I had with him. I’m grateful I got to take him to my hometown and show him around. We all rode up there on the bikes for the weekend to camp. Took him on the picture rock cruise, rode out to a few waterfalls. Had the time of our lives. When the three amigos rode I was pretty much there. That’s when Bruce decided to call us mama and the three amigos. I felt proud that he took me in and I was one of them. Yes, Bruce would get out in the middle of night if u needed him. He was also the kind of guy who would give his shirt of his back for you! Bruce had made an impact to so many people in different ways. I will miss u more than words can say. I love u Bruce and thank you for all the great memories we shared whether it was riding, fishing, camping, or just hanging out at a bon fire. My thoughts and prayers are with the family. Bruce will be missed by many!
