Beverly M. Irelan, age 86, of Wolverine, MI, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family, on Thursday, December 8, 2022.

She was born October 3, 1936, in Bellevue, MI, the daughter of Demress and Elizabeth Treat.

Beverly graduated with an Associate in Nursing degree from Northern Michigan University, in Marquette, MI. She lived in Michigan all her life and enjoyed gardening, sewing, watching birds and deer in her backyard, sunbathing, and lakes, going to the casino, and making fudge and potato candy every Christmas for family and friends. She loved the dogs she had throughout her life. For several years after retirement, she enjoyed living in Florida during the winter months.

She worked for Kellogg’s Cereal as a young adult. After graduating from Northern Michigan University, she worked as a licensed practical nurse in hospitals, nursing homes, doctor’s offices, and home health. She loved helping people as a nurse for over 30 years.

She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth “Bunni” Irelan (63) of New Jersey; her sons, Jack (67) and James “Jim” (64) of Michigan; eight grandchildren, Jennifer, Kristi, Chad, Jami, Adam, and Laci, all of Michigan, Cindy of New Jersey, and Brian of Virginia; 16 great-grandchildren; brother, Richard “Dick” of Michigan; and sister, Ellen of Florida.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Jack; parents, Demress and Elizabeth; and stepmother, Hazel Treat.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 13, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. from the Nelson Funeral Home. Visitation at the Nelson Funeral Home will be held on Monday, December 12, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday, December 13, 2022, from 1:00 p.m. until the time of services.

Burial will take place at Otsego Lake Township Cemetery, in Gaylord, MI.

  1. She was a absolutely amazing Nurse she was such a comfort to me on my frequent nights to the Er with my chronic migraines she always knew the right thing to say.My thoughts and prayers are with all of her family and friends
