Beverly Ann (Hopkins) Maddox, age 71, loving mother of two, passed away Friday, February 3, 2023.

Bev was born on February 27, 1951, to Richard and Louise (Dowker) Hopkins.  On June 8, 1974, she married Paul Maddox.  They raised two sons, Rick and Matt.

Bev. Was a lifetime resident of Gaylord. She had many friends and enjoyed helping others.  She worked at McReynolds Hall, and the Alpine Center until it closed.  She then took clients into her home, while working for Community Mental Health.

She had a glorious sense of humor and her kindness was boundless.  She loved music, mostly Motown and Creedence Clearwater Revival.

Bev was preceded in death by her father, Richard.

She is survived by her mother, Louise Hopkins of Gaylord; her husband, Paul of Gaylord; her sons, Rick and Matt both of Gaylord; her sister, Diana Kay Hopkins of Gaylord; her grandchildren, Matthew, Lucas, and Autumn, all of Gaylord; her loving nieces, Amy Barnes and April Hopkins, both of Indiana; and many aunts and uncles.

A service will be held at the time of her burial, in the spring.

I will never forget my wonderful, beautiful cousin Bev. She was always fun to be around and always made me laugh. She had a big heart and a loving nature. She touched many lives, and made a difference in this world. Until we meet again , rest in peace, in the arms of our savior.

  5. Paul and family, Bev was a super person, always willing to talk, and pass the time! I first met her when her folks had the Hopkins General Store at the corner of (then) US 27 and Old State road. I remember her every time I pass by where the store was located.
