It was a bit dimmer on the corner when word came that Lorraine Blazic died. She and her late husband, Andy, were my neighbors and I always said a prayer of gratitude when I drove past their lovely home. Their light will shine bright in God’s Kingdom and in our hearts. Lorraine was a special gift and treasure to many. Her gardens were expressions of the joy and delight she shared with so many. We are most grateful.

So we pray Lord that you cloth her with your care, bathe her in your love, and send her along with the wind and a song and the sound of garden rains in her hair. She was a delight. We loved her well. She brought us joy. We had her for a spell and now she is God’s forever.

Lorraine, may Andy and all the special people gone before you welcome you with delight, may the saints and angels clap hands for joy and may the Blessed Mother welcome you with a bouquet of freshly cut flowers from the garden and present you to her Son, Jesus Christ. May He take you to Almighty God who will embrace you and welcome you home saying, “Welcome home. Lorraine, welcome home. Thanks for all the good things you did. You were special. Your life was a ‘good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over’. Amen. Fr. Pat Cawley
