Marion L. Ayers

Marion L. Ayers, 88 of Frederic passed away Sunday March 10, 2019 at home surrounded by her loving family.

Marion was born on January 23, 1931 in Otisville, Michigan to Wilbur “Red” and Ellen (DeClute) Harvey.

Marion married Edward C. Ayers on July 31, 1948 and they were happily married for over 64 years, until he passed away on December 22, 2012.

Marion was an avid musician and played piano and organ for her church in Frederic for many years.

Marion enjoyed gardening with her husband, children and her grandchildren. She loved to work with yarn and had a passion for canning the foods from Ayers Acres. Most importantly, she cherished her family and friends.

Marion was preceded in death by her parents Wilber and Ellen, her husband Edward, her sister Marjorie Martin and her daughter Kimberly Sue Ayers.

She is survived by her sister Eunice “Rusty” (Mike) Dean and her children Marilyn (Rex) Alma, Michael (Julie) Ayers, Darryl Ayers, Harvey (Ardie) Ayers, Carolyn N’bunh and Bradford Ayers; 24 grandchildren, 57 great-grandchildren and 18 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday March 13th at 11 a.m. at The First Baptist Church of Frederic. Pastor Dale Hammond officiating.

Visitation at The Nelson Funeral Home in Gaylord will be held on Tuesday March 12th from 3-7 p.m.

Visitation will continue on Wednesday March 13th from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the church. Burial will take place in the spring.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family for future designation.

    I sure miss Marion at church. I loved that she really enjoyed playing the piano. Her hats and her smile made me smile. Marion and I prayed for each other and I look forward to seeing her in glory. May you rest in peace with our Lord and Savior and one day we will see each other again.

    Please accept my sincere condolences on the loss of your beautiful mother and sister. When you see somebody that has been able to achieve such a long and full life as Marion has, one may wonder why does man have to die at all.
