    Kelley,

Kelley, I think back to the years that we lived together in college. There has never been a time that I have wanted those days back so much in my life, back before we had any really hard decisions to make. You taught me the art of a grilled cheese and we sang ridiculous songs in the living room. We were young, carefree and people weren’t hurting. I wish there was something that I could do to make this easier for you and your kids. I Love you Kelley, and I am praying for you and your beautiful family.

  4. We are so saddened and shocked to hear of Chris ‘ passing. We will keep your whole family in our thoughts and prayers. We will always treasure the time that he lived with us and have nothing but fond memories. With sincerest condolences, Reet and Terry Kamp

  7. I am very saddened by this terrible news, my thoughts and prayers are with Chris’s family. Even though I had not seen Chris for many years, I have nothing but great memories as his coach with the Ann Arbor Ice Dogs and the Steelhead Fishing trips to Stoney Creek. You will always be in my thoughts whenever I step into the stream.

Dear Bob and family, our thoughts and prayers are with you! This one is a tough trail, particularly since you all were so very close as a family unit. You will always miss him and his light, but believe you’ll find that his wife and children, along with memories of happy times, will provide the strength you need to move forward. At the end of the day, things are pretty simple–life isn’t a race, nor a competition, but is meant to be lived. It sounds as though Chris did that admirably! One big hug to you and your family! 41. I am shocked to hear about Chris, and I am sorry for your loss. I knew Chris in High School. In 9th and 10th grade he and his friends were sort of bullies to me and some of my friends. In 11th grade though, he apologized to me, and actually meant it. He was very nice to me in our math class that we had together, and I remember talking about the Red Wings (who were awesome at the time) and having a few laughs here and there in that class. I didn’t talk to him much after that, but we’d always say hi to each other in the hallways during our senior year. On one of the last days, I remember passing him and asking him to sign my yearbook. He wrote:
“Not much time to keep in touch through the hectic year. You are a good friend. Keep your smarts and go Wings.”
Sorry to ramble, but I just wanted to share this story because Chris showed me that someone I considered a bully because of who he associated with early on turned out to be a really kind person and totally changed my outlook on him.

  42. Dear Bob, Baiba and Family, I am so very sorry about your loss. As a friend of his Uncle Glenn, I have not seen Christopher since he was a young boy, but it is obvious from what I have read and heard that Christopher grew to become an amazing person who was dedicated to his family. My condolences, thoughts, and prayers to everyone in the Lieckfield and Mesecar Families.

  43. My deepest condolences to Kelley, the kids, and all the friends and family.

I am so lucky to have shared some great memories with Chris. From fishing to hockey.. I can’t remember a moment with him that didn’t involve laughing and good times. He was the type of guy that had the unquie ability to make people around him happy. He was a great guy, and I’m sure dad and husband. I know he will be missed deeply, but remembered vividly by everyone that had the opportunity to know him.

You will all be in my thoughts and prayers.

    Regards,
Mike and all his old fishing buddies from Midwest Sport Shop

  44. To the family of Chris, I’m so sorry to learn about the loss of your dear loved one. Please know that God sees what you are going through and knows of your deep heartache.
