JW Pascoe, age 38 of Traverse city, Michigan passed away on July 10, 2018.

JW was born in Escanaba, Michigan on June 30, 1980 to Robert James Pascoe and Katherine (Ness) Pascoe-Kern.  He lived in the Gaylord area with his family and graduated from Gaylord Community Schools.  He attended Central Michigan University.

He has two beautiful children, Rachel Skye Pascoe and Allison Rose Pascoe, who were the light of his life.  He was a chef for many years and then made a transition, staying in the restaurant business that he so loved, and became a sales representative with the Core Group.  He loved to cook and everybody loved him to cook for them!  JW was as kindhearted as they came and always had a smile on his face.  He wanted to make everyone laugh, which he did all the time, even with his really not so funny jokes that he loved to tell.  He loved his children and his family with all of his heart.  He enjoyed sports, was a die-hard Falcons fan and loved the game of golf.

He is survived by his children, Rachel Skye Pascoe and Allison Rose Pascoe, his parents, Robert James Pascoe and Katherine Kern (Rich), grandparents, Helen and Lester Ness, Jr., sister Jennifer Lee Burrows (Clete), Aunts and Uncles, Thomas Ness (Joyce), Laurie Arkens (Tom), Karen Berbohm (Bob), Joseph Pascoe (Sharon), David Pascoe (Debby), Thomas Pascoe (Joan),  Daniel Pascoe (Theresa), Laurie Kemink and Kathleen Dement (Kevin), two nieces, Hadley and Berkley Burrows and a nephew, Bryce Burrows, along with 19 cousins and the mother of his children, Lauren Flynn.  He is preceded in death by his grandparents James William Pascoe and Shirley Pascoe, and uncle, John Kemink.

Visitation will be 12:00 p.m. Sunday July 15, 2018 at Nelsons Funeral Home, with a funeral service following at 4:00 p.m.

Arrangements entrusted to Nelson Funeral Home, Inc. P.O. Box 1548, Gaylord, MI 49734.

Donations can be given to the family.

  1. JW was the best friend a person could ask for. He was always checking in on me, pushing me to be all I could be, getting me through some terrible times, all while never complaining about his own. He loved his girls more than I’ve ever heard a dad love their daughters. If he wasn’t talking about them, he was talking about his wonderful mom. He was a man who truly loved his family. His dogs were his other children that he always worked into a conversation or had a video ready to share. I’ll never forget the jokes he spit out whether I was in the mood to hear them or not. If I refused to laugh, he’d come up with more until I resigned to “mercy” and decided to laugh to make the “JW humor” stop. I never thought it would be possible to miss a person so much. What I wouldn’t give for just one more text or phone call…RIP JW. Have your jokes ready for when we meet again.

J Dub. We’ll always remember you by your million dollar smile, your kindness and friendly personality, all the Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jean Claude Van Dam movies you watched with me and my kids. You were like a nephew. You were the same as an adult. Our deepest condolences to your mom and dad, and all those whose lives you touched. Rich, Lori, Tony & Shannon Fasi
