Harley Ross Sewell, 85, passed away on April 4, 2020, at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City, MI.

Born in Gaylord, MI, he was the son of Charles and Tillie (Moon) Sewell.

He was the husband of Margaret Lorraine (Walker) Sewell. They shared 66 years of marriage together.

Harley and Lorraine raised their family in Flushing, Michigan and moved back to Gaylord when he retired from GM in 1984.

Harley will always be remembered for his love of talking to anyone he met, and the stories he would tell about growing up on the farm with his 15 brothers and sisters and all his many friends and family he had through the years.

He is survived by his spouse, who he affectionally called “Rainy”, his 5 children Deborah Sewell Broglen, Harley Jr. (Greta) Sewell, Gary (Cathy) Sewell, Micheal (Laura) Sewell and Matthew (Amber) Sewell, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

  1. I’m very sorry for your loss, I rented from Mel in the eighties and met Harley at that time. He was so good natured and helpful to me, I enjoyed knowing him.
