Edna Faye Galyean, 78, of Gaylord, passed away Monday, October 26, 2020.

She was born in Betsy Layne, Kentucky, to the late Harlan and Frances (Crumb) Parsons, on January 25, 1942.

Edna was known by most of her friends as “Faye.”  She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Gaylord.  She spent over 40 years working at Dr. Cousineau’s office helping take care of patients and all the other day to day functions.  In her free time, she would volunteer at Munson Otsego Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.  On the weekends she could be found running with her best friend or going to the local garage sales. The most important thing above everything else for Faye was family, and spending time with them during the holidays or even going camping.  The highlight of her days and her pride and joy were her grandchildren.

Faye was preceded in death by her parents and sister Joyce Ann Parsons

She is survived by her husband, Felton; children, Eugene (Marqueta) Galyean, and Melissa (Keith) Rusnell; siblings, Virge (Gilbert) Hahn, Jim Parsons, and Tennie Parsons; and grandchildren, Victoria Rusnell, Ean Rusnell, Sarina Galyean, and Kenzie Galyean.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Otsego Memorial Hospital Auxiliary by mailing the donation to OMHA at 825 N. Center Ave, Gaylord, MI. 49735.

The family will honor her privately at this time.

Arrangements were entrusted to Nelson Funeral Home & Cremation Service, PO Box 1548, Gaylord, MI 49734

It’s a very sad day when you lose such a cheerful person. Faye always treated me with kind words and always had something to say. She gave my father and me great care when working for Dr. Cousineau. She was such a pleasure there and when bumping into her at the many garage sales. A very nice Lady… We will miss you, Faye.

So very sorry to hear about Faye. We knew Faye for years through Doc Cousineau. She was awesome, always smiling. I also worked with her many years ago in the ’80s at Burger King. She and I were the older ladies, and we hit it off right away. We worked hard and had lots of fun interacting with the younger workers. Our deepest sympathy to her family. May she rest in peace.. she will be missed by many.

  9. Sister Faye, You left way too soon, Virgie, and I didn’t get to come and surprise you with another visit. You never missed a birthday, wouldn’t let us open our presents until our birthday! Got mad if it was a “gift card” instead of a wrapped gift. You loved holidays, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter.
You would bring food all the way down to Mommy’s house from yours for the holidays. Cause you baked and wrapped for weeks before the holidays.
I can’t imagine how I will get thru a Sunday without your phone call asking ME how I am, I will love and miss you every day in my heart Faye. You left too soon I know one thing your Holidays are going to be awesome up there. Cause NOW almost all the good ones have arrived up there!!!
    Love Sister Tennie

    Felton, Gene, Melissa, and families-
There are no words to describe how saddened we were to hear of Faye’s passing. She was absolutely a wonderful person and it truly broke our heartS to get the phone call. We worked together for many, many years and she was always so kind and respectful to others. She always had a big beautiful smile.
She was so funny and we were always laughing! She always talked lovingly about her family and loved to shop for gifts for them year around. She especially enjoyed buying for her Mom and her grandkids. Faye was such a special friend. We will dearly miss her. After she retired we often saw her shopping in the stores and she would always call out to us, come over, and hug and visit with us, with her sweet smile. We will miss that! God Bless you all! We’re just a phone call away if you need anything.
Love and Prayers, Dr. Don and Marlene Cousineau

  20. I’m in shock. Firstly, I send our Condolences to the Family. My Husband knew Pappy for 31 or 32 years. He always loved to chit-chat with him. As for me, I will never forget Faye and how Wonderful of a person she was. The Hugs, the smiles, her telling me about their trips to see her Mom. I can’t breath I’ve been crying since reading this Sad News. The World has lost another Beautiful, Loving, kind, Lady. We’ll miss you Faye, I’ll never forget that kind soul you had for everyone.
    RIP. Our dear Friend.
Prayers, Hugs, and Love go out to the Family.
You all had the Best of the Best.

  21. Melissa and family, I’m utterly heartbroken over this news and can’t begin to imagine how this has affected you all. Faye was such a neat lady and one of our favorite volleyball and childhood moms! I remember the days when Faye and my mother Grace (Linda) would walk for miles up and down the rolling hills on Morgan Rd, always bringing garden tomatoes over, and I can still hear Faye’s soft southern accent to this day calling for Melissa from 5 acres away when we all played outside late during the summers – “Melis….come on home now”. My family’s memories of Mrs. Faye will never be forgotten. Many thoughts and prayers to the Galyeans during this time.
