Douglas Dean Wilks, age 88, of Charlevoix, Michigan entered eternal life on March 12, 2019 where he was met by his bride, Lillian.

Doug was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan to Delray and Gladys (Eggers) Wilks.  Doug married the love of his life, Lillian (House) on October 21, 1950. The two settled in Charlevoix, Michigan in 1962, where they raised their family.  Doug loved holidays and family get-togethers, any chance to spend time with his family was important to him.  Doug was known for his warm and welcoming heart, he will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Doug was preceded in death by his loving wife, Lillian May Wilks; his son, David Allen Wilks; his parents; sister, Betty Lou; and brothers, James, Richard, and Samuel.

He is survived by his sons, Ken (Ruth) Wilks, Duane (Marcia) Wilks, and Kevin (Kathy) Wilks.  He is also survived by his 9 grandchildren, Tonya Turner-Bain, Kari (Dave) Henrichs, David (Shena) Wilks, Kristyn (Daniel) Case, Melissa (Nathan) Smith, Jayme Wilks, Kimberly (James) Franklin, Ray Wilks and Kaitlyn Wilks.   He is also survived by an abundance of great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 15, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. from the Nelson Funeral Home in Gaylord, Michigan with Reverend John Naile officiating.  Visitation will be held on Friday (March 15) from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 a.m.
