Charles Edward “Chuck” Carncross, 91, died May 11, 2020, at his home in Johannesburg, Michigan, surrounded by his family and friends.
Charles was born on January 24, 1929, in Morenci, Michigan, to Jason and Metha (Kime) Carncross. He proudly served in the United States Army. After serving, he returned home and decided to serve another way by becoming the mail carrier of Morenci, Michigan, from which he retired. He was also a lifetime member of the American Legion and a previous member of the First Congregational Church of Morenci. Charles was also an avid bowler and golfer. He loved to travel the states, and he collected various items throughout the years.
Charles was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Jason and Metha (Kime) Carncross; his siblings, Eugene Carncross, Ruth (Carncross) Fenner, Russell Carncross, and PFC Ronald Carncross; his daughter, Carla (Carncross) VanDeKerchove; and his granddaughter, Stephanie Renee Carncross.
Charles is survived by his children, Anderson (Karen) Carncross, Thomas Carpenter, and Clark (Thelma) Carncross; son-in-law, Richard VanDeKerchove; grandchildren, Jessica (Richard) Carpenter-Smith, Joshua (Kayley) Carpenter, Joseph (Emily) Carncross, Katie (David) Showalter, Nickolas (Hayley) VanDeKerchove, Hunter VanDeKerchove, and Luke VanDeKerchove; great-grandchildren, Ombre Fowler, Isabelle Carncross, Harrison VanDeKerchove, Harmony Carncross; and two more blessings to come.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.

I just happened upon this by chance and it brought back nice memories of our great and always cheerful postman, Charlie Carncross. Thank you for all your dedicated service not only to our small community but your service to our country. You were a kind soul and I’m only sorry I could never tell you this once I was grown and moved away.
His Mother was our nieghbor . He was so good to me he would set and play chute the ladder. When older they taught me Canada. R.I.P
