On Thursday morning, March 29th, 2018 Vivian Elsie (Letson) Kassuba, a lifelong resident of Vanderbilt passed away peacefully at home. She was the oldest child born to Vernon & Azalia (Glazier) Letson on August 26, 1939.
Vivian was named class hot rod and best dancer at Vanderbilt High School, was a quick witted pinochle player and teacher, could finagle anyone into a shopping trip, and enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. Vivian worked at Ann’s Restaurant in Vanderbilt (where she met her future husband) and retired from Van Products after working 33 years. She married John Mitchell Kassuba in 1961, 57 fun-filled years that they shared with many close friends (too many to name).
She is survived by her husband, John; son, Vernon (Jillina) Kassuba; Granddaughters, Amber (Matthew) Launstein, Anna (Matthew) Green, Abigail Kassuba and Amy Kassuba; Great Grandchildren, Cambri and Porter Launstein, Claryana Womack. She was looking forward to the arrival of expected granddaughter, Finnley Elsie Green (who joined us the middle of May).
She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Harvey Letson.
The family will host a memorial celebration to honor her life on July 7th at 10:00 a.m. at the Evergreen Hill Cemetery with a luncheon to follow at Corwith township Hall in Vanderbilt.
