Stephanie Delores Damer passed away on Wednesday, May 17, 2017. She was 89.

Stephanie was born to Pete and Sophia (Konopaski) Cieslak on February 3, 1928. Being one of eleven children, she was raised with a deep appreciation for family and thus cared for her own family with that same love. She also enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and gardening.

She is survived by her children, Larry Damer of Apache Junction, AZ, and Judy Pausits and Martin (Dianne) Damer of Gaylord; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; siblings Helen Duffy, Walter Cieslak, and Reggie Borowiak; and many nieces and nephews.

Stephanie is preceded in death by her parents, Pete and Sophia; and siblings Josephine Skoczen, Mary Scibior, Mildred Jurek, John Cieslak, Joe Cieslak, Edward Cieslak, and Stanley Cieslak.

Services will be held on Tuesday, May 23 at 11am at St. Mary Cathedral in Gaylord. Visitation will be held on Monday, May 22 from 3 to 8 with a Rosary service at 6. There will also be a visitation period on Tuesday beginning at 10am and lasting until the time of service.

Memorial contributions may be made to Northern Pines Assisted Living and/or Hospice of Michigan. Arrangements were entrusted to Nelson Funeral Home, PO Box 1548, Gaylord, MI 49734.

I was so saddened today to hear that you left us and I will miss our daily chats, I am missing you like my own mother who I only lost a short time ago, and you were so understanding and comforting, thanks you for being the person you were and for sharing your stories with me and your heart! you will be missed !! To the Family my heart felt condolences as I understand what you are going through and my prayers are with you!

Sorry for your loss. I know she is in a better place now. I haven't seen any of you guys for a long time now. But I remembered aunt Stafie as always being the fun one at all the gatherings we had when me and Larry were kids. Love Tony
