Print Obituary Send Flowers Goslow, Phyllis Obituary

Phyllis Elaine Goslow, 84, passed away on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at Aspen Ridge Retirement Village.

Phyllis was born on February 1, 1933 to Lewis and Airlie (Titsworth) Goslow in Flint, Michigan. Soon after, they returned to Gaylord where her father was born. Phyllis graduated from Gaylord High School and soon after went to work at Gaylord State Bank. She worked at the bank for many years through its succession to Old Kent Bank and Fifth Third Bank when she retired.

Phyllis enjoyed animals, and she and her life partner Ruth Riddle always had fun when dining out with their many friends. She and Ruth had a camper (which they used camping out anytime they could) and called Paradise Michigan their second home! They also enjoyed sitting around the campfire with friends new and old.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis and Airlie; life partner, Ruth Riddle; favorite canine friends, Sandy and Buffy; and an orange tabby cat.

She is survived by her cousins Carol (Lyle) Cousins; several distant cousins; her dog Buddy; her cat Muffin; and her longtime friend and caregiver, Vince LaRosa.

Services will be held at Nelson Funeral Home on Monday, April 3, 2017 at 2pm with Pastor Randy Brokaw officiating. Visitation will be held from 1pm until the time of services.

In lieu of flowers, Phyllis had requested that memorial contributions be made to the Otsego County Animal Shelter, through the Nelson Funeral Home, PO Box 1548, Gaylord MI 49734.

My condolences to Phyllis's family. Phyllis was the sweetest lady. I met her and Ruth when I worked at the Holiday Gas Station I use to rent from her and Ruth. I miss them dearly. May you find comfort in your memories. God Bless.

I remember Phyllis playing piano every Sunday at the Otsego Lake Baptist Church. My thoughts and prayers are with the family at this time.
