Frank S. Jones, age 98, of Harbor Springs, passed away comfortably at home on December 21, 2016 with his loving wife, Carolyn by his side.

He was a Lieutenant Colonel in the US Army during WWII where he was awarded the Silver Star for bravery in the South Pacific conflict.

He has been retired from the Ford Motor Co. for 39 years where he was the head of purchasing for Ford Tractor. He has been in Harbor Springs for the full 39 years enjoying the marvels of northern MI. Boyne Highlands was a treasured part of his life for many of those years- the skiing, golf and most of all the many friendship with members and staff alike.

He was blessed with his wife of 36 years, Carolyn and survived by Carolyn and her daughter Leslie, his oldest son Frank Jr. DDS, daughters Janie, Kathy, Madeline, Margaret, son Bobby, 11 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren with one on the way.

He had 98 years with 96 of them going full speed ahead! Rest In Peace Daddy!

A memorial service will take place on Tuesday, December 27 at 10AM from the Boyne Highlands Country Club in Harbor Springs.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Northwest Michigan or The First Tee through Nelson Funeral Home and Cremation Service, PO Box 1548, Gaylord, MI 49734.

I am so sorry to read about Franks passing this afternoon! I have so many memories of Frank and Carolyn from their Trout Creek days. The best times were horse back riding with them...such fun. My thoughts are with you Carolyn-I am sending big hugs your way.
