To the Staff of Nelson's Funeral Home:
I want to thank all of you from the bottom of my soul for all the help that each of you gave to me, my brother and sister. You made the passing of our mother so much easier. I want to especially thank Pat for all the help and kindness he gave during this time. Again, everyone at Nelson's, thank you so very much.
Dear Mr. Nelson, Pat Carroll and staff;
Words cannot express how grateful we are for all the concern and consideration you have given us during our daughter's death and burial. The visitation at the funeral home was very consoling. Being able to visit with friends and relatives and reminiscence will be a memory we will hold forever.
The gathering and service at the church was very beautiful. We have had several people comment on the service and how wonderful it was. I thought everything went perfectly.
The burial, too, was very special. My mother (age 92) commented that the graveside service was one of the nciest she had ever been to. I have to agree with her.
A HUGE thank you to all of you for making this experience of buring a loved one more understandable and peaceful.
God Bless all of you,
Mike and Julie K. and families
Jan Lake and Staff,
Thank you again and again. You made this difficult time in my life alot easier with your help and concern. THANKS.
Dear staff of Nelson Funeral Home,
McReynolds Hall would like to thank you for all you did to make the first Remembrance Tea so special. The heartwarming presentation by Sheila was both comforting and inspriational. Chuck's words of kindness and appreciation are very much appreciated. Jan's baked homemade cookies were delicious the refreshing punch was tasty! The event was well organized. Pat, thank you for the tablecloths and for offering support. You all have an important ministry. God Bless You!
I just wanted to say a big thank you. As I heard from a little "birdie" the day of my mom's funeral was your birthday! You directed over moms services, she would be so happy after 93 years in the Gaylord community she got the "top guy" to work for her, and even on his B-day! I can hear her laughing. In all seriousness, it was a very good experience because of you and your staff. It was so organized and we were always treated with such kindness and professionally. Your direction and seeing you there just helped get us through and we felt a lot less stress, less lost, because of you. Hopefully you will have many Happy Birthdays all the way to 93 years old too! God Bless you!
Mary, Joe, Andrea, Dar, & Sheri V.
Thank you so much for everything you did to make Jim's viewing and service so special for us! Sincerely, L.O.
We cannont thank you enough for your kindness, thoughtfulness, and professionalism during the planning, and memorial service for our wife and mother. You made one of the most difficult times so comfortable for our family. We are so blessed by each of you. The family of R.T. (March 2014)
We so appreciate your help at mom's memorial service at First United Methodist Church in Jan. Wow, What a big help, I never realized how much direction etc. there would be making a service run smoothly. That was an ingenious and blessed thing you did for our family and Reverend Naile. God loves you and so do we! The family of A.S.
Can't thank you enough for being so nice. Thank you for all your help dealing the detail surrounding mom's death.
...I would like to send a note of sincere thanks and gratitude , I met you only briefly, but your genuine kindness & compassion was felt. So again, I say thank you for being such a valuable, integral part in the transition of my Aunt.
Fondly - Jeanine T. 5/2013
I don't know where to begin to thank you for all your kindness & compassion in handling the arrangements for my mom. Jack and Jan welcomed our family without an appointment on one of the busiest weekends of the year and just made everything so easy for us amidst all our confusion. The visitation and funeral were handled beautifully- with every detail taken care of so we could spend time receiving family and friends. You went above and beyond your duties assisting me when I needed help with situations that had nothing to do with the funeral. I'm so overwhelmed with all of your kindness. Gaylord is a very lucky communtiy to have such wonderful people to help them begin their journey of healing. May God Bless you all!

On behalf of my deceased aunt.....I wish to express my most sincere thank you to yourself and your truly remarkable staff. The professionalism and genuine concern exemplified by everyone, especially Kelly, were heartwarming and greatly appreciated. You and your staff have been involved in the life ending function of so many members of both the immediate and extended family. On every occasion you have mitigated the degree of loss and enabled our family to process the situation and proceed with dignity. You have done so for a period of decades. I am extremely grateful.
Sincerely, William C. 6/2013
Our family would like to thank you for everything you did to make this difficult time easier on all of us. Taking care of our mom and the total process of transporting her and all that was involved is greatly appreciated. She looked lovely and the casket was beautiful. It's a comfort to know your kindness and generosity helps ease the pain of our loss. Thank you again for everything.
Over twenty five years ago on Thanksgiving morning I found myself, along with my family, at the Nelson Funeral Home making arrangements for my dad who had passed away the night before. I remember Jack Weston sitting with us and helping us along in a process that we had never experienced before. His attention to detail along with his caring heart gave us guidance in making the necessary decisions that were before us.
